Setastic is a late-stage start-up business scheduled to commence operation upon receipt of funding. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, we are currently developing a mobile application focused on real-time discovery. The app is designed to support hashtag-based searches for current events that are occurring in the user’s immediate geographic area. Using keywords, app users can search for events, businesses, activities, and other interests, and will receive a detailed map featuring pin icons indicating nearby offerings. Users can save hashtags to specific lists to expedite future searches. In addition, users will receive in-app notifications based on past searches, notifying them of new events that are occurring nearby. All searches and profiles will be anonymous by default. The result will be a convenient, location-based app designed to help smartphone users discover new activities and businesses while safeguarding users’ privacy and creating a community atmosphere.
